Title
Overview
Description

The BEng in Chemical and Environmental Engineering is a combined program that helps students understand various industrial processes and determine where environmental control measures can be implemented to make the community a better place to live. The program emphasizes processes that turn raw materials into valuable products without producing effluents or waste. All companies handling such processes need environmental engineers with a fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering to design, control, manage, and operate environmental treatment facilities.

"I chose to study Chemical and Environmental Engineering due to a genuine interest in the environment and in engineering. During my time in CBE, I joined the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, where I learnt more about aerosol chemistry. I enjoyed working with my classmates, and found myself learning a lot due to the open environment in CBE. For example, the engineering mindset that I picked up from studying has been immensely useful in my career, even in business projects!
For prospective and current students, I would advise this: don’t be afraid to take a detour to reach your goal! Try your best at everything you do, and something will definitely turn up in the end."
